What It Is
With this option, the file structure is moved and permissions are simply not mapped at all.
When To Choose It
Choose this option when you are concerned only about moving content and wish to manually set permissions on the target. Alternatively, choose this option in a data archive scenario, where the target items will be accessed only by a centralized system or user group and original permissions are no longer relevant.
Example
Source Structure
On the source, we have a directory structure that is shared as follows:
Engineering: shared with “Engineering”, “Product Management”
- Project Alpha: shared with “Engineering”, “Product Management”
- Project Beta: shared with “Engineering”, “Bob Johnson”
Marketing: shared with “Marketing”
- User Studies: shared with “Marketing”, “Designers”
- Personas: shared with “Designers”, half of the marketing users
- Digital and PPC: shared with some of the marketing users, “Digital Agency”
Target Structure
On the target, you want the following directory structure shared as follows:
Engineering
- Project Alpha
- Project Beta
Marketing
- User Studies
- Personas
- Digital and PPC
